Main Committee

Hi everyone, I am Sean, the current president of the 28th Management Committee of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Club. It is of great pleasure to serve the MAE population with the help of my fellow committee members. Being a student oriented club, we constantly crack our heads and work tirelessly to provide the best to our students. Thus far, we have successfully organized giveaways, events, and provided academic assistances such as lecture notes and past year papers suggested solutions. Well, there is still one more exciting semester to go. I sincerely believe that a club works best by acquiring valuable feedbacks from its fellow members. If you have any ideas or feedbacks, do drop us a mail at feedback@maeclub.com!

Hello my fellow MAE students. I'm Siew Loong, the Vice President of 28th Management Committee. My main objective to achieve from this position is to serve my fellow MAE students to give all of you better welfare by doing whatever I can. In general, I basically assist the president whenever he needs a helping hand and on top of that, taking part in planning and organising the club throughout the term. To be more specific, I'm mainly looking after the events that we are planning for MAE students, hoping to give the students a fun and a more enjoyable life in NTU throughout our years of studies here. I believe there's always room for improvement so for anyone of you who have any comments on our events, or basically anything, can just drop an email to feedback@maeclub.com. I hereby wish all MAE students to have a more enjoyable in NTU for the rest of your time here! See you all around.

Hello to you. My name is Astrini. I suppose most of you might have known, or at least seen my name somewhere...Yeap, it is at the very bottom part of every mail starting with [MAE Club], sent to your mailbox. Well, it is indeed a great pleasure for me to be a step closer to you and to serve you as the Honorary General Secretary. You might wonder what else I usually do besides appearing in your inbox? Perhaps you should walk slightly further, across the new canteen A, and along the way to Tan Chin Thuan LT where you normally have MP2002 lectures. There is a big notice board with an MAE Club logo on it. Our club's own notice board that is managed and updated by the Secretariat portfolio. Stay tuned for every updates and interesting infos that can be found up there! Of course, there are more things to be worried for and finished. Monthly reports, keying in of ECA records, and various kinds of photo editing? If you might recall, one of them is the sales of MAE Windbreaker, and the MAE Sweater! After all, I would be passionately happy to receive all your comments and feedbacks of the club and everything from it which can be send to me directly, or to feedback@maeclub.com. Of course, it is a great pleasure for me if you can get something meaningful and beneficial through my mails and the noticeboard, and the other things yet to be mentioned. Thanks a million! A warm warm greeting from Astrini. :)

Yo whazzup people! Hope you've benefited from the event updates on our facebook group from time to time. And if you haven't, do join us in our facebook group and spice up your life in NTU! Do continue to give us your support and i hope to see you in more of our upcoming events! =D

Hi all, the dude in the picture is the CFO of the MAE Club. That's right, I'm Patrick the financial controller. Being the financial controller exposes me to other fields such as accounting and social skills rather than the oh so boring engineering thingamajig. I've learnt alot from this role and I find myself becoming more mature in my judgement. A financial controller has a much more dynamic role rather than filling in claim forms and recording transactions. The club budget and financial planning lies in my hands. So ladies and folks, I hope you enjoyed all the events and services provided by the club. If there are no budget constraints, I'll sure bring in more perks for the MAE students.

Hi, I'm Eugene Tan Sia Nguan, "A Piece of Advice". Hear me now and heed my advice, If you don't want to waste your life, Don't turn to temptation; Don't be enticed. As evil surrounds your very eyes! Let my advice show you the light; Stating the truth of man's sorrowful plight. Born into a life that we can't decide, We can only make do with our lives. A day is indeed heaven's gift to man, A gift that we try hard to comprehend, Although many minds do not understand, A day in time lies in our own hands. The time of 24 is given to all, The hours that keep going and won't stall, Though we try hard to seize the day, The ticking clock let time run away. Time and tide wait for no man, As we cherish our every second. Once time has past, it can't be retrieved, Thus all we can do is lament and grieve. To cease this suffering and end our regrets, Do seize the coming days and upcoming exams, Obstacles and barriers forbids one's success, So strive hard in life to clear one's past's mess.

Hi, I'm Kelvin Chooi Ka Yiung. QUIZ! What come across your mind when you first thought of Business Manager? Very good at business? Know how to run a company? WRONG!!! Business Manager is the one who get you all nice cold(mostly warm) beverages, unknown coffee sachets, lecture pad, and many many many expired magazines(I hate it, but it is the easiest item to get). Sounds easy ya? The answer is again, NO! The main duty of being a Business Manager is to source as many sponsors as possible for goodies, cash and prizes for events. A goodies bag normally contains of roughly 8-10 items. You might complain that there are many useless, space consumed goodies filling the bag and your room, especially the magazines which accountable for heaviness of the goodies bag(GOSH! I STILL HAVE 3 MORE LECTURES TO GO! and I am TIED WITH THIS DAMN BAG!). But you know what? In order to get 8-10 goodies per bag, you have to call around 100 COMPANY to get it. Yes, nothing wrong with your browser and your eye is functioning perfectly, it is 100. Imagine, you have 100 calls to make, if all of the 100 companies are interested to sponsor you, you would have to send them the proposal of the event, which means, you have another 100 emails to be sent. 100 calls would make your phone bill rocket high(parents won't happy about it and so long chit chat time with bf/gf). 100 emails would make you a machine working in front of another machine for like at least 3 hours. Sounds tough ya? Fortunately, we have a Business Team consists of 10 people. We separate our task evenly so that no one would mourn for poor academic performance and not having a life. And we can increase our range to source for more sponsorships, a.k.a higher chance for getting more goodies(so we are the heroes behind the scene). So what is the thing you should know after finish reading this? Be Thankful for EVERY goodies bag you get! If you have any suggestions for what kind of goodies we should try to get, DO TELL US! We always WELCOME new ideas!

Hello, I'm Andrew, your assistant business manager! Serving as a business manager is something really exciting. You will be a bridge between the club and the sponsors. Sometimes you might get rejected by thousands of vendors before a successful sponsorship but this does not stop us from trying and trying and trying to source for the best goodies for the benefit of all MAE students! :D I hope you guys will like the goodie bags during the welfare package and if you have any great suggestions, please feel free to drop us an email at bizmag@maeclub.com

Hello all... I'm Rishabh Talwalkar, Mechatronics Year 3. As the Logistics Secretary of MAE Club, my main job scope is to ensure that, as my name suggests, all logistical requirements are fulfilled during any of the events organised by the club. This is done by making sure all facilities are booked well in advance, and all equipment that's essential is present at the event venue prior to the start of the event itself. Another important job scope of mine is to help my Business Managers with goodie collection. During the course of the year, MAE Club gives out a few thousand goodie bags. Me and my team ensure that these goodie bags are fille to the brim with all the goodies you want. This may not sound like much work, but there is work to do throughout the semester, and it's not a job for the weak-hearted, or simply for the weak.

Being an editor certainly isn't easy when you feel like a minion in front of the rest of your committee members at times, and then having to run around trying to make sure your own (sub-comm) team knows what to do and where to go and which people to take shots of. Of course I've learnt lots and lots of things but really, my co-editor and I would just like you to have a good time browsing through the rest of the website rather than read all this... so scoot! see ya
